Two approaches to treating verrucae: a painless denaturing treatment over several short sessions, or a minor surgical option under local anaesthetic for advanced cases.
Verrutop — £45 per session
Verrutop is a professionally applied, painless verruca treatment. Some of the hard skin is removed to prepare the surface prior to treatment.
Unlike cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop doesn't work by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead, it denatures the virus and desiccates the wart tissue, which then falls off the skin, leaving intact skin underneath.
Two to four sessions are typically advised, spaced a few weeks apart.
Needling — £340 (includes follow-up)
Needling is a minor surgery to remove the verrucae, performed under local anaesthetic. Only available to patients over sixteen.
This is the more decisive option for stubborn or painful verrucae. The price includes a follow-up appointment three to four days later.
