What happens in the appointment

Treatment for advanced cases of ingrown toenails. Whilst you're under local anaesthetic, I'll treat the offending nail and apply chemicals to ensure no future regrowth.

If nail surgery is needed to deal with ingrown toenails, we have a few options for treatment — I'll explain each one properly, and we'll choose together based on your nails and what you're comfortable with.

What to expect

  • Local anaesthetic — no discomfort during the procedure
  • Careful removal of the offending nail portion
  • Chemical cauterisation to prevent regrowth
  • No scarring, with gentle aftercare guidance
  • A follow-up appointment to check progress

Is this right for you?

Nail surgery is usually the right step once simpler resection treatments have been tried, or for nails that are severely involuted or recurring. If you're not sure, book a routine appointment first — I'll examine your nails and we'll make a plan together.
